Kathleen (Kathy) McGuiness was elected Auditor of Accounts in November 2018. When sworn into office Kathleen became the first female Auditor of Accounts in Delaware history.
Born in Kent County and raised in Sussex County, where she lives today with her husband, three children. Kathleen is a graduate of Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes. Kathleen earned a bachelor's degree in biology and a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
The Auditor of Accounts, an elected office, serves as the State of Delaware's fiscal watchdog. Kathleen K. McGuiness serves as the independent auditor, she and her staff are charged with responsibility for the State's annual financial and federal single audits.
